Fishing charters
There’s a fish with your name on it in Islamorada. We’ll help you catch it.
Private offshore, reef and backcountry charters out of Islamorada with local captains who fish it every day. Half days to full days, families to tournament anglers, from 84001 Overseas Hwy.
- Bait, tackle and licence included. Bring sunscreen and lunch.
- Captain's call on the weather. Not fishable means another day, not a wasted one.
- Catch what is in season. We plan the trip around the calendar and the tide.

How a day goes
- We confirm the trip, the start time (set by the tide) and what to bring.
- Meet the captain at the dock; the boat is fuelled, iced and rigged, the bait already aboard.
- Fish the plan: the spots and species the conditions favour that day, with the captain and mate coaching as much or as little as you like.
- Back at the dock the mate cleans the keepers; many local restaurants cook your catch.
Questions
- Do I need a fishing licence on a charter?
- No. Customers on a licensed charter boat are covered by the boat's licence, including the snook permit and the reef-fish designation.
- What should I bring?
- Sunscreen, a hat, polarised sunglasses, soft-soled shoes, water and snacks, and a cooler in the car for the fish you keep. Rods, reels, bait, tackle and ice are on the boat.
- What if the weather is bad?
- The captain makes the call on the day. If it is not safe or not fishable, the trip moves to another day or is refunded; the conditions page shows the forecast and the go / no-go picture for small boats.
- Can we keep the fish?
- Yes, within the FWC limits for the species and season, which the captain knows. Many Islamorada species (tarpon, bonefish) are catch-and-release, and most captains encourage releasing what you will not eat.
- Are kids welcome?
- Yes. The half-day backcountry trip is the family favourite: calm water, steady action and short runs.
- How far ahead should I book?
- Peak weeks (spring tarpon, winter sailfish, holidays) book out weeks ahead; otherwise a few days is usually enough. Enquire with your dates and we will say what is open.
Guidance, not a guarantee: fishing is weather and fish dependent. Regulations change; the captain fishes to the current FWC rules.
